Your clearing timeline
Confirm your clearing date, request your housing office's inspection checklist, and book your move-out clean for the day after your household goods pack-out.
Purge the garage, patio, and storage closets. Inspectors check these first and they are the most common reason for a re-inspection.
Patch nail holes, replace burned-out bulbs and HVAC filters, and photograph any damage that existed at move-in.

The inspection-standard checklist
Every item below is scope on a CleanWorks move-out. If you are cleaning it yourself, work top-down, room by room, and save the floors for last.
Kitchen
- Oven interior, racks, broiler pan, and glass door degreased
- Refrigerator emptied, defrosted, and wiped inside and behind
- Range hood filter degreased, vent housing wiped
- All cabinets and drawers emptied and wiped inside, outside, and on top
- Dishwasher gasket, trap, and interior scrubbed
Bathrooms
- Hard-water scale removed from glass, chrome, and tile — the top Central Texas fail point
- Grout lines detailed, caulk lines free of mildew
- Exhaust fan covers removed and washed
- Under-sink cabinets emptied and wiped
Whole home
- Baseboards, door frames, and switch plates wiped free of fine grit
- Window tracks, sills, and blinds detailed
- Ceiling fans, vents, and light fixtures dusted and washed
- Interior of closets, shelving, and the water heater closet cleaned
- Floors vacuumed and mopped edge to edge, carpets cleaned if required by your lease
Exterior and garage
- Garage swept, oil spots treated
- Patio and entry swept, cobwebs removed
- Trash fully removed from the property
Where Killeen move-outs actually fail
